Men of Nigerian Police at Enugu State Command have arrested three persons in Enugu, who allegedly stabbed an Anglican priest after beating him, under the cover of playing masquerade. The reason for the attack was yet to be ascertained but the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident said the three persons and the masquerade regalia are  currently in police custody for interrogation. According to the PPRO, “operatives of Igboeze North Division of Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police have nabbed three suspects (names withheld), all of Igogoro, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State for allegedly conspiring to beat and stab one Reverend Christian Ajibo, an Anglican priest, with a dagger on the right side of his chest.” - See more at: http://omoakinajulo.blogspot.com

Tragedy was averted on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) in Lagos following a ground collision of two aircraft belonging to FirstNation Airways. A similar incident had occurred at the airport on July 6, following the collision of two aircraft belonging  to Emirates and Hak Air. It was gathered that Friday’s incident which happened at about mid-day involved two Airbus 330 conveying not fewer than 250 passengers. The two aircraft had their bodies partially damaged as a result of the collision. A source at the airport said one of the aircrafts was taxiing from the runway to MMA2, to disengage passengers while the other aircraft was preparing to take off to Port-Harcourt Airport from the same terminal. The source alleged that the pilot may have been misdirected by the marshals who directed the pilot to taxi to the wrong part of the apron. President Buhari has appointed Abdullahi Gana as the new commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC. Special Adviser to Pres. Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, announced the appointment in a statement released. Until his appointment, Mr Gana was an Assistant Commandant-General of the NSCDC. He takes over from Dr. Ade Abolurin, who has retired. Gana is an indigine of Muye in Lapai LGA of Niger State and graduated from the University of Sokoto.

A girl of 10 who complained at school of stomach ache gave birth just hours later. She was rushed to hospital in Brazil by teachers and found her to be in the late stages of labour. Although only 7 months pregnant, the girl gave birth normally. The girl and her baby are being cared for in the hospital's neonatal unit. She told police her ­stepfather, 40, abused her. He is now accused of rape. The girl’s mother claimed she had not seen her ­daughter’s stomach bulge and she had no idea she was pregnant. According to police, the girl's mother said that her daughter started to struggle at school and become more introverted from October last year. A woman in China refused to smash the window of her BMW to rescue her trapped toddler son from the stifling heat - because she didn't want to damage the luxury car. According to CCTV, the crowd gathered around the car after hearing the cries of the helpless three-year-old infant inside the vehicle.. The boy was clawing at the car window but the mother was stood next to the vehicle doing nothing to help.. Passers-by and even firefighters urged her to let them break the window and save the boy, but she insisted on waiting for a locksmith to arrive and unlock the door, a witness said. But when the boy began to deteriorate, the firefighters ignored the mother and smashed the window to rescue the youngster.
